On Wednesday 22nd November, our Head Boy and Girl delivered an informative and engaging presentation on World Children’s Day, which remains us of the right of children. Also, to honour Mary Seacole’s birthday they celebrated her lifetime achievemnets. Well done to Alice and Avar for presenting the assembly.
The Scientific community celebrates two important dates in November; The World Science Day for Peace and Development and Marie Curie’s birthday. At Parkside we celebrated both days in an assembly to highlight the role of artificial intelligence in the peaceful and sustainable development of society and the contribution Marie Curie’s discovery of radioactivity to the developments in nuclear physics and oncology
Monday 23rd through to Friday 27th October was Enrichment week at Parkside. During the course of the week, students arrived into college to take part in a range of Intervention sessions to help support them with their education. Year 11 students were offered booster sessions in preparation for their upcoming trial examinations which take place in November. Support was also offered to those students that are new to the country and may require extra support with accessing the curriculum, due to the language barrier. It was a thoroughly enjoyable and highly productive week for all.
Black History Month is celebrated every year during the month of October, it is a momentous occasion to recognise and celebrate the invaluable contributions of black people to British society. Students at Parkside were privileged to listen to a live interview with Levi Roots who is a musician, television personality, celebrity chef, author, and businessman
On Wednesday 27th September students at Parkside celebrated European Day of Languages by partaking in a competition to say “Hello, my name is (state name)” in as many languages as possible, they were asked to say the statement aloud in the documented languages.
On Tuesday 19th September, Parkside Studio College opened its doors to all members of the community who are eager to explore the opportunity of sending their child to a college which offers dynamic teaching, an engaging curriculum and a variety of academic and vocational further education options.
On Thursday 24th August, the Year 11 Leavers came in to collect their GCSE results, our amazing students supported each other through the day and celebrated each other, decided on their next steps together and were adamant to know who had gained the best results for each subject. Although there is nothing wrong with healthy competition, staff advised the students that no matter what grade they achieved, they will always be a Parkside Winner!! So here it is......... The Parkside Champions League!!! Mathematics: Chloe and Joshua both scoring a grade 7!!! English Language: Chole scored a very respectable 6!!!! English Literature: Abdullah pipped everyone to the post and scored a 7!!! Science: Chloe pipped the group with an amazing 8-7!!!! Business: Chloe celebrates with a 7!!!! Sports Science: This hotly contested subject goes to our very own champion Joshua who walks away with a fantastic Level 2 Distinction*!! Hair and Beauty: Chloe styled a fabulous Level 2 Distinction! Health and Social Care: Another Level 2 Distinction in the bag for Chloe! Media: We have a tie from Jawirah and Jasmit both securing a Level 2 Pass. Well done to all the students for doing their very best, and to staff for their hard work/consistency and support, we couldn’t be any prouder of you all.

On Friday 14th July, The Rosedale Hewens Academy Trust’s 2023 Year 11 Cohort had their prom at Q Vardis in Uxbridge. The theme was ‘A Night on the Red Carpet’ and the students surely lived up to this. It truly was a grand event where each student was a VIP. From the sequins and sparkle, to the suits and ties, the students thoroughly enjoyed themselves for a night of merriment, commemorating the end of their Key Stage 4 journeys.
On Thursday 6th July, Magic Hoops Basketball Academy came to Parkside to deliver the first of 5 weekly basketball sessions. The aim of the enrichment sessions is to enable students to gain a further insight into the game of basketball and to learn new skills. Students commented on how exciting it was and how much they enjoyed it. Thank you Mr Hood for organising the event
An assembly to celebrate the Year 11 Leavers of 2023 was held on Friday 16th June. The morning began with an assembly which had students reflecting on their Key Stage 4 journey through an exciting video of events that students took part in whilst they were at Parkside, and heartfelt messages from teaching staff and the Principal. Students were then presented with certificates as a reward of their hard work and dedication this year.
