We have now received a final copy of our Ofsted report following the inspection that took place in May 2023. We are delighted to share with parents, guardians and carers that inspectors have confirmed that Parkside Studio College is a ‘Good’ school in all areas!
On Wednesday, 20th May, Year 9 students visited London Zoo for a reward trip. From start to finish, the atmosphere was full of excitement, laughter and curiosity as students explored one of the world’s most iconic zoos.
The day was spent discovering incredible animals from around the globe, from majestic lions and playful monkeys to fascinating reptiles and colourful birds. There was plenty of ‘wow’ moments as students got up close to some of their favourite animals, and they learned about conservation along the way.
This week’s whole college assembly was about Vesak, one of the most important festivals in Buddhism. Vesak commemorates the birth, enlightenment and passing of Siddhartha Gautama.
Buddhists around the world celebrate Vesak by visiting temples, lighting candles, meditating, sharing meals and helping those in need. The festival is a time to reflect on important values that can inspire us all in our everyday lives.

Parkside Studio College offers an interactive, hands-on approach to education for students aged 14 to 19, combining academic learning with real-world creative and technical skills.
The theme of our whole college assembly was ‘Respecting all Families.’ The assembly focused on the idea that families can look very different, and that all families deserve respect and understanding. It explained why schools often use the phrase “parents, guardians and carers” instead of just “mum and dad,” recognising that not every child lives in the same type of family.
Year 10 students have recently been developing their baking skills as part of their Life Skills lessons, this week they baked cupcakes. This hands-on experience has been a fantastic way to build confidence, independence, and practical kitchen skills.
On Wednesday 22nd April 2026, Year 9, 10 and 11 students of Parkside Studio College attended a Mental Health Awareness Week assembly delivered by Mr Downes. The session focused on raising awareness, reducing stigma, and encouraging students to look after their wellbeing.
On March 13th, Parkside Studio College celebrated the incredible blend of cultures that make up our college community, all under this year’s theme: Unity in Diversity. It was a day filled with pride, colour and connection.
New Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP)
At The Rosedale Hewens Academy Trust, the safety and wellbeing of everyone in our community is our top priority. In line with updated guidance, we are introducing a new approach to ensure that individuals who may need assistance during an emergency—such as those with disabilities or temporary mobility challenges—are fully supported.
On Friday 6th March Year 10 students began preparations for Pi Day which will be celebrated on Saturday 14th March, but here at Parkside we will celebrate it on Friday 13th March!
