Triple P (Positive Parenting Programme) is an approach to raising teenagers that aims to promote appropriate teenager development and the management of teenagers’ behaviour in a constructive way.
During their Hair and Beauty lesson on Tuesday 20th January, Year 10 Beauty students developed their practical and theoretical skills through an engaging lesson focused on professional beauty practice. Students explored key topics such as skin analysis, hygiene and safety procedures, and the correct use of beauty tools and products. They also had the opportunity to practise techniques on each other while building confidence, precision, and client care skills.
On Tuesday, 13 January, students at Parkside Studio College participated in an impactful Sexual Harassment Workshop, delivered by KISS and led by a phenomenal and engaging presenter. The sessions were carefully structured with all year groups. The sessions were split into two groups, one for Years 9 and 10 and one for Year 11, ensuring age-appropriate discussion and reflection. The workshop focused on helping students understand what sexual harassment is, why it is never acceptable, and how it can affect individuals both emotionally and socially. Through clear explanations, real-life examples and open discussion, students explored the importance of respect, personal boundaries and consent, as well as recognising inappropriate behaviour both in person and online. Emphasis was placed on speaking up, supporting others, and knowing where and how to seek help if they or someone they know feels uncomfortable or unsafe. The session encouraged confidence, awareness and responsibility, reinforcing the message that everyone has the right to feel safe, respected and heard within school and beyond.
On Wednesday, 17th December, our amazing Parkside students gathered for a festive Christmas dinner filled with laughter, joy and delicious food! It was wonderful to see everyone come together to celebrate the season and share in the holiday spirit.
On Friday 12th December, students in Years 9 and 10 took part in an unforgettable visit to The Beck Theatre to watch the Sleeping Beauty Pantomime. From dazzling costumes to hilarious panto moments, the show brought the classic tale to life in the most enchanting way.

On Friday 24th October, Year 11 students at Parkside visited Cadbury World in Birmingham. From experiencing the rich history of chocolate to watching real chocolatiers in action, every moment was a treat! The 4D chocolate adventure cinema was a highlight, flying through a chocolatey world with motion seats and special effects was a lot of fun. Students met the iconic Cadbury characters, snapped lots of photos with them, and spent a long time in the gift shop!! It was a lovely day full of laughter, learning, and lot of chocolate.

On Monday, 13th October, Parkside Hair and Beauty students had the amazing opportunity to attend the UK’s leading beauty and spa event- Professional Beauty London at the Excel! The exhibition was a vibrant showcase of the latest in skincare, make-up, wellness and nail artistry. Students watched live demonstrations and had insights from professionals across the beauty world. The Nailympia Nail competition showcased intricate gel designs to stunning mixed media creations; the talent on display was next level.
On Wednesday 1st October, Year 11 students had their reward trip to London Zoo. The day began with a stunning walk through Regent’s Park, soaking up the autumn sunshine before heading into the heart of London.
