World Science Day Assembly

The Scientific community celebrates two important dates in November; The World Science Day for Peace and Development and Marie Curie’s birthday. At Parkside we celebrated both days in an assembly to highlight the role of artificial intelligence in the peaceful and sustainable development of society and the contribution Marie Curie’s discovery of radioactivity to the developments in nuclear physics and oncology

Students were informed about the challenges Maris faced being a woman in a sexist society and a scientific community dominated by men. Additionally we discussed the lessons we could model from her by developing resilience to overcome our personal challenges. Many thanks to Mr Fagon for leading the assembly.
