Independent Living Workshop -Year 11 23/11/20
On Thursday 19th November, students in Year 11 capitalised on a beneficial experience and engaged in a virtual independent living workshop, delivered by The National Citizen Service. The session gave the students the opportunity to enhance their knowledge about the risks of being a victim of fraud, the associated risks of social media and how to identify these occurrences.
Students were advised on the eccentrics of shopping for a bank account and how to understand a bank statement. They were given realistic scenarios that they would possibly encounter in the future when making up travel budgets, reading a payslip, calculating interest rates on loans, as well as ways of improving their credit history. The students were very receptive to this as it brought out experiences that would eventually become a reality for them in the future.
This was a very productive and informative session and all students were very enthusiastic throughout!
