Macbeth Production at Parkside 9/03/20

“Whiles I threat, he lives: Words to the heat of deeds too cold breath gives.” - Macbeth.

On Friday 28th February, Parkside Studio College hosted a unique production of Shakespeare’s acclaimed tragedy, Macbeth, delivered by Box Clever Theatre. Year 11 students across all four colleges within the Trust congregated in the main hall to watch this theatrically exciting adaptation of the play, dramatizing the damaging effects of political ambition. Not only did the play enthuse the students through its contemporary interpretation with a modern twist, but it also allowed the students to watch the play come to life through the heartfelt, emotional performances of the actors and extraordinary opportunity for audience participation! A number of students from all four colleges took part, from rising to “hail Macbeth”, to taking centre stage as Banquo’s son in Act 3, Scene 3, performed effortlessly by Tyrese Chioma from Rosedale College! Well done students on your excellent behaviour and active participation throughout, and thank you to Box Clever Theatre for an engaging and interactive production!
